Please Welcome our Guest Musicians Willow Creek Band
Gospel music, with influences of country, folk, and a little bluegrass… that’s what Willow Creek Band brings us today. We know John and Karen Harris from their years with us at Faith Church, in our choir, leading a monthly jam session open to the public, and serving in various ways. But with their band they play all over Arizona at music festivals, churches, restaurants (several times a year at Desert Rose Steakhouse) 6729 N 57th Dr. near Old Town Glendale) John has led music for churches all over the United States, and with and through the military in Okinawa, Germany, and other places (he is a USAF veteran). Famously also he once played at Louisiana Hayride, a place where Elvis Presley offered many shows!
Karen plays because John had bought the stand-up bass, it sat in the corner of their living room and she got tired of dusting it… so for her birthday 8 years ago, John “bought” her five lessons on the bass, and the rest is history! She just gets better and better.
Jerry Dunaway and Dan Stone (a Navy veteran) both have years of experience playing and singing many styles of music on guitar. Jerry is a cousin to Dennis Dunaway, bass player for Alice Cooper! But WE follow Jerry and Dan as famous and appreciated for their work not only with Willow Creek, but with the group THEY headline called Retro Folk. They just had a concert last night at First Christian Church in Sun City. The have recorded several CD’s. Sometimes they also call Karen to play bass with them!

Welcome to Switchback, the duo of Brian FitzGerald and Martin McCormack, our guest musicians today.
Rev. Michael Campbell, piano; Rev. Sheryl Campbell, flute
In North America, the word “switchback” describes a winding road that twists back on itself as it ascends to the top of a mountain. In Ireland and the United Kingdom, it is slang for a roller-coaster, with its energetic, thrilling ride. But for music lovers around the world, Switchback is the name of the award-winning Midwestern-based duo of Brian FitzGerald and Martin McCormack, whose brand of original music has made them an international touring sensation and a presence on PBS in the United States. Dubbed “American Roots with Celtic Soul,” Switchback’s beautifully crafted songs move the feet while swaying the heart. Switchback’s mandolin, guitar, bass, and percussion flow alongside soaring harmonies to create a sonic journey. Today we enjoy several of their original songs written particularly for worship, and welcome them as leaders of our Faith Choir.
